The issue of water deficiency at distinctive times in the private corridors of Sher-e-Bangla Rural College (Shkribi) in the capital has held on for a long time.

Understudies in the Sheikha Sira Khatun Corridor of the college are right now confronting a genuine water emergency.

After the Eid al-Adha occasion, understudies did not get water in the lobby. Understudies were confronting issues due to the need for drinking water in the lavatory and filter.

It is known that the development work of the 10-storey

Sheikha Sera Khatun Understudy Corridor began in 2020 and will be operational in 2023. In spite of the fact that there have been episodes of water deficiency at diverse times since its development, the college organization has yet to come up with any lasting arrangement. Most of the time in the evening, there is no water in the washroom of the lobby due to the tank being harmed; at that point, in some cases, there is no drinking water. At the conclusion of the semester, understudies cannot come to the corridor and go to the washroom, nor take a shower. Now and then, Wasa provides water, but more is needed.

One of the understudies living in the lobby said:

“There is no water in the washroom of the corridor, and there is no water in any channel either.” If a small water comes abruptly, it contains earth, and the color of the water is dark. It is not conceivable to wash hands and confront with this water, as it causes tingling in the body. It is exceptionally troublesome to live like this. I had to come to the corridor quickly after the Eid occasion due to the examination. If the organization had given significance to our needs, we would have had fewer issues with water.

Another corridor understudy said,

“I did not discover water while showering, and I went to another lobby to take a shower.” Water is one of the fundamental needs of the private corridor, but we have been suffering from water deficiency for a long time. We young ladies live an unfortunate life here.

Sheikha Sara Khatun Lobby,

Dignitary of the Corridor Teacher Dr. Specialist of Medication. Shahidul Islam said we are attempting our best so that the understudies can avoid any troubles. This happened due to an issue with the pump. The building office said that the issue will be fathomed by the 28th of this month. At display, we are attempting to meet the needs of the understudies by taking water from WASA. If the extraordinary pump is in working condition, there will be no problem.
